Rotary blades and knives are manufactured in various alloy options including low-cost martensitic stainless steel, molybdenum micro-alloyed with higher carbon austenitic stainless steel to high end proprietary knife steels which are sourced from leading tool and knife steel manufacturers of Europe and in the Norwegian region.
Custom made precision width, and thickness cold drawn, cross-rolled, superior surface finish, high temperature annealed/ solution annealed strips are laser cut to circular knife and blade geometric shape and tolerances meeting Chennile Machine rotary blade inter-changeability without any compatibility issues.
Replicating special designed blade cutting edge on every rotary blade manufactured is critical to the success of any industrial knife in its end application. Champer cut relief angle and high-speed radial grinding of cutting-edge using combination of Industrial Diamond tools, and/ or Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) grinding wheels leads to basic knife product. Based on its alloy and metallurgical properties, such rotary blades and knives are then subjected to controlled vacuum furnace heat treatment cycles in monitored batches with traceable product lots for each cycle. Proprietary Vacuum or Cryogenic heat treatment rendered imparts knives with exceptionally high hardness in the range of HRC 58-66 while successive triple tempering in continuum ensures superior fracture toughness, This enables us to deliver our clients rotary blade/knives with “ superior, long lasting edge retention” over its service life which demand less frequent re-sharpening or re-grinding; mitigating expensive plant downtimes, enhancing Kalibre longevity, improved cost efficiencies in yarn cutting leading to high productivity, lower cost of ownership promising higher client’s profitability.
